Last night the Clippers showed why they will be a problem in the NBA for any team. You are not watching the same team you watched five years ago. In their NBA debut last night, they shined bright like a diamond and expect them to continue to shine throughout the season. They knocked off the Memphis Grizzlies 101-92.

After watching the Clippers play last night,  they are most definitely one of the top five teams in the NBA. This team looks impressive, they have over six standout players on their roster. Of course, all the starting players are noticeable but it gets deeper going into their bench.

Jamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe who comes off the bench could easily start on any NBA team in the league. Those two fellas aren’t just regular players, they’re guys who can come in the game and possibly give you more than your starters. The Clippers have multiple of scorers that’ll compliment Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. Too be honest, they might have one of the deepest benches in the NBA; they’re loaded with talent.

In the home opener game last night against the Memphis Grizzlies Crawford made the Clippers organization feel lucky and proud that he chose their team to be on. Crawford was lights out last night, shooting 10-14 with 29 points in just twenty-nine minutes.

Unfortunately, he’s one of those guys that teams just tend overlook. After hearing Crawford speak to the media last night after the game, he seems to be in a comfortable position mentally and physically when it comes to basketball.

“It’s like night and day from last year, honestly, ” Crawford said. ” I haven’t felt like this since I was with the Knicks, mentally. I feel like I’ve found a home. The last few years I’ve basically played on one-year contracts. And that’s always tough. Some of the guys here called me and told me I was their number one option in free agency at the guard position. And when you feel wanted like that and see where the team is going and how it’s an fit, it’s very cool.”

It’s time to give the Clippers their respect, they have earned it. This organization has proved for the last two years that they’re building a championship caliber team. There was a time when players thought the Clippers was a laughing stock in the NBA. They’ve come a long way on turning this team around and after seeing them play last night, they appeared to be going down the right road.

Although the one flaw they need to work on is letting early  leads dwindle down. I think that’s the only major problem with this team after evaluating them last night. But the one thing that stood out the most in the game was the hustle from the players. There was a lot of diving and running trying to save dead plays. If your Vinny Del Negro you have to be flattered by your teams work ethic. They looked hungry, determined and focused.
