USC still have a lot of talent on its roster, despite the defection of quarterback Matt Barkley and wide receiver Robert Woods to the NFL. Sophomore defensive tackle Leonard Williams is one of the key Trojans expected to have an impact on the season. Picked to finished third in the Pac-12 South Division preseason poll, Williams may be able to take the Trojans to a much higher ranking at the end of the season.
Williams, who is up Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy, both for Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors, is a flat-out stud that the rest of the Pac-12 and other teams, beginning with Hawaii, will have to try to stop from wrecking haoic in their offensive backfields. As a freshman, Williams recorded 13.5 tackles for losses and registered 64 tackles, including 31 solo stops.
