Terrell Watson Shines in NFLPA Game

NFLPA Collegiate BowlCarson, CA- Local small school running back Terrell Watson (33) from Azusa Pacific University steals the show and  wins NFLPA Collegiate Bowl MVP. On the big stage with a game full of NFL hopefuls competing for chance to raise their stock. This year the National League team was victorious, claiming a  17-0 win. The National League team was coached by Mike Martz at StubHub Center.

Coming into this game, Watson was making a name for himself, breaking  one NCAA Division II record, 25 GNAC (Great Northwest Athletic Conference) records, 20 Azusa Pacific school marks. In 2014 season, Watson was the national rushing leader in college football (all divisions): 2,153 yards. In just three years, Watson  had rewritten virtually every school rushing record, including a handful previously held by Cougar legend Christian Okoye (’86). In this year’s NFLA game Watson gained 55 yards in 9 carries and a touchdown averaging 6.1 yards.

This game and practice week experience for all the players is great learning experience. Now going into the NFL draft in upcoming months these guys have little more to add to their resumes. The National League domination the last few years continued today but every player walking away injury free gained a victory.
