LOS ANGELES-The 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) had a lot riding on it on Saturday, Jan. 30. Buzz has circulated in recent weeks at fever pitch over the alleged snub of films and individual performers of color from the Academy Awards (Oscars) that has saw all nominees selected to be white. Outrage has since hit Hollywood like a whirlwind on the issue of diversity and inclusion.
Well, safe to say, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are much more closer to the diversity mantra than the Academy Awards has ever done. This was reflected during the awards ceremony that took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where the subject no doubt was talked about and dissected over and over again.
Meanwhile, the show featured the beauty and glamour that is reflective of all the glitz in Hollywood as the stars hit the red carpet and celebrated backstage after winning their respective SAG Awards. All photos taken by Dennis J. Freeman for News4usonline.com.
