Lakers’ vibe brings DeAndre Jordan to LA

For the first 10 seasons of his career, DeAndre Jordan played in the city of Los Angeles. He never won an NBA title. Now that he has returned to Southern California, Jordan is hoping he can finally cash in on that dream.

On Thursday, the Los Angele Lakers announced that they had signed the 13-year veteran to a contract.

In joining the Lakers, Jordan is now part of his second Super Team. For the last two seasons, Jordan played with another Super Team.

This one featured the center hooking up with Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. Last season, the Nets added Jordan’s former teammate with the Los Angeles Clippers, Blake Griffin, to their squad.

The Nets were widely expected to win the Eastern Conference and advance to the NBA Finals. Instead, the Nets bowed out of the postseason the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals following seven grueling games.

With the Lakers, Jordan will be on a roster that features some heavy hitters in LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and Anthony Davis. The high-flying Jordan has had four seasons in which he has shot over 70 percent from the field. Always around the basket, Jordan established himself as a rebound fanatic.

Jordan averaged over 15 rebounds a game twice in the 10 seasons he played with the Clippers. In nine of the 13 seasons he has played in the NBA, Jordan recorded double-digits in rebounding. Jordan is a three-time All-NBA selection. He is also an Olympic gold medalist after helping Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
