(News4usonline) – I believe that the Monday following Super Bowl Sunday should be considered a holiday for many American football fans out there in the United States. Every year, Americans get together for the biggest sporting event of the year.
I feel like some people may not feel like going into work the Monday after the Super Bowl due to Big Game exhaustion from the night before or simply just feeling drained and tired from all that Super Bowl partying.
The Super Bowl is so close to President’s Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, and Washington’s Birthday. Besides February being a short month and with its many holidays, why not add Super Bowl Monday to be a holiday? It would give us all an excuse to not go to work or school.
Some people may not care to have the Monday off after the Super Bowl because the person may not be a football fan or may feel like it doesn’t really matter having the Monday off because working just sounds so much better because of earning some extra money.
I feel like most people that work at bars and restaurants have access to televisions so the workers can watch the Super Bowl from here and there while on the clock. Some workers don’t really care for the Super Bowl if they aren’t football fans.
I think it is a great idea that it could possibly be a thing with having the Super Bowl on Washington’s Birthday weekend due to conserving having an off day and adding an extra holiday in February since there are already a sufficient number of holidays in the month.
I personally would not mind having the Monday off but at the same time, I don’t really mind having to work either because I don’t really go crazy for the Super Bowl.

I usually watch the game with family and friends and eat food and have a great time, but I don’t really drink alcohol or do anything crazy. So, I wouldn’t really have an excuse to call off work.
Another question is would it be better to have the Super Bowl on Saturday instead of on Sunday? To me, it would feel a bit weird because college football games are played, for the most part, on Saturday and NFL games are typically showcased on Sundays. Besides, the Super Bowl has been on display on Sunday for many, many years.
According to SB Nation, some fans prefer to have Super Bowl Saturday and most fans rather have the Monday after the Super Bowl as a holiday.
We can’t forget the journalists, reporters, broadcasters, and all the other people who work in the sports world and also help to organize the Super Bowl together. They may need the day after the Super Bowl off due to all the hard work and preparation that they have put in.
It can be quite stressful planning the Super Bowl and interviewing personnel, players, and coaches after the game. Who knows, in the future, we may see some changes in the NFL regarding the Super Bowl and the attention given to having the Monday off the day after the Super Bowl. As NFL fans, we shall see.
