Quarterback JT Daniels couldn’t catch a break with the USC Trojans. Now he’s creating his own narrative. On Twitter, Daniels said good-bye to the Trojan faithful and gave a basic hello to the Bulldogs with a THANK YOU USC, Excited for the future!” and #GoDawgs message.

After leading the Men of Troy on the field as the starting quarterback for the Trojans as a true freshman, Daniels saw his career trajectory hit a snag when he tore his ACL during the first game of the 2018 season against Fresno State. Daniels missed the rest of the 2019 football campaign and was replaced by Kevin Slovis, now entrenched as USC’s starting signal-caller as a sophomore. Daniels, a redshirt sophomore, has three years of eligibility remaining.
During his first year as the Trojans’ quarterback, Daniels played with mixed results. At times, he looked spectacular. At other times, he looked and played like a freshman, passing for 2,672 yards and 14 touchdowns. Daniels also threw 10 picks that season as well. The Trojans finished with a 5-7 overall record and placed fourth in the Pac-12 Conference South Division.
When Daniels came to USC he came with a great deal of pedigree and hype, dominating the high school landscape. Among the many accolades he received during his prep career, Daniels was named as the 2017 Gatorade National Player of the Year, Max Preps National Player of the Year, USA Today All-USA first team, and National High School Coaches Association Player of the Year.
