Los Angeles, CA –A new pop-up exhibit honoring the late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla is now open at the GRAMMY Museum.
Selena: From Texas to the World features artifacts that reflect her life and legacy — from artistic sketches she created as a fashion designer, to her iconic performance outfits, and the awards she earned throughout her career.
The original Selena Museum is located in Corpus Christi, Texas, and is operated by her older sister Suzette Quintanilla, CEO and President of Q-Productions and executor of the Selena estate.

That museum offers a deeper look into who Selena was as a person — her love for music, fashion and her overall journey as an artist.
Selena Quintanilla was beloved by fans who watched her grow into the star she was destined to become — the Queen of Tejano music. She broke barriers as a Mexican American singer, transitioning from English to Spanish-language music to connect more deeply with the Latino community and, in doing so, inspired generations.
Now, her legacy continues in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at the GRAMMY Museum. Fans who grew up with her music can reconnect with her story, while a new generation will discover who Selena was and what she accomplished during her life.
Outside the museum, visitors are welcomed by a powerful new mural created by Southern California artist Mister Toledo. Drawing inspiration from Selena’s impact and beauty, Toledo’s mural captures her spirit, style and the details of what she wore — honoring what she left behind for the world to remember.
Toledo shared his inspiration behind the mural, saying,
“The inspiration behind the mural was solely due to the impact she had within the Latino community and the whole world. If you follow your dreams, you can achieve anything. She had been working since she was a little girl with her family — and having that support at such a young age means a lot. I relate to Selena. If it wasn’t for my family and friends supporting and believing in me, I wouldn’t be where I am. Now I’m here in L.A. as a full-time artist, and creating a Selena mural is insane.”

He added, “Doing murals is not just for collectors — it’s for everyone to enjoy in person. While walking outside, people can take selfies with the mural — something everyone can experience.”
Toledo also described his creative process as being very tedious.
“When working on this mural, I did a lot of research. I started watching her music videos and live performances, Googling images and taking screenshots to see what worked best. I wanted to showcase different parts of her life — from the iconic dresses she wore to her receiving Grammys — and capture a little bit of everything so your eyes don’t just focus on one area.”
Reflecting on Selena’s family seeing the finished piece, Toledo said he was satisfied with his work, and a bit relieved.

“I feel like Selena would be honored. She’d probably make a few jokes — she was just a happy and fun individual. Having her sister and her husband here to see the mural and hearing how much they loved the details means a lot. It was like, ‘Okay, I did a good job — they approved.’”
For those who may not be familiar with Selena, Selena: From Texas to the World offers a powerful introduction to her life and legacy.
Selena was not only an artist, but also a wife with dreams far beyond what anyone could have imagined — and had she still been here, there’s no telling what more she might have accomplished.
The pop-up exhibit is now open and will be on display through March 16, 2026. A piece of Selena Quintanilla has arrived in the heart of Los Angeles — and it’s not something fans will want to miss.
