Hollywood, CA (News 4 Us Online) – Actor Chadwick Boseman is officially legendary. The Black Panther star became the 2,828th recipient to have his star unveiled on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on Nov. 20, 2025.
Among those attending the event included “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler and co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Letitia Wright, actress Viola Davis, who starred with Boseman in the film “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” Disney CEO Bob Iger, and a whole host family members and well-wishers.

The ceremony began earnestly enough Davis making an emotional pitch. Coogler tried his best to keep his emotions under control. For the most part, the “Sinners” filmmaker kept things under a lid, but the emotions of losing Boseman still hit a raw nerve for Coogler.
Jordan and Wright did not speak during the ceremony, which took place at the Hollywood Experience, located on Hollywood Boulevard. The morning/afternoon event only featured a couple of speakers: Davis, Coogler and Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward Boseman.
The ceremony had a hushed, subdued tone to it as the speakers recounted some of the ways that they remember Boseman and reflected on his legacy as one of the best thespians in Hollywood and a kind, gentle soul when he was removed from the acting scene.
“When I think of Chadwick Boseman, I think of three things: leadership, teaching and generosity,” Coogler said. “He was an incredible leader. He was fearless and firm, yet gentle in his leadership. Chadwick was ageless. I never really knew how old he was until I went to one of his birthday parties. He had this incredible youthful look to him. But being around him, I always got the sense I was around somebody incredibly old…Chad felt a 1,000 years old. He was that calm and that wise.”
Ledward Boseman gave her late husband kudos for being more than an actor.

“In life, Chad was more than an actor or even an artist,” Ledward Boseman said. “He was a spiritual teacher, fortified by family and close friends that kept him grounded and safe, a team that believed in him, protected him and fought for him. Colleagues that trusted his vision that lifted him up and forged a real brotherhood…you have no idea how pivotal those moments were.”
Aside from his Black Panther, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and 42 roles, Boseman is also known for his work in Marshall, Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, and Get on Up.
