It was quick work for the Los Angeles Clippers Saturday night as they easily dispatched the New Orleans Pelicans. The first quarter was all the Clippers really needed in defeating the Pelicans 106-78 at Staples Center. The Clippers stormed out to a 30-17 first quarter lead and never looked back, handing the Pelicans another woeful loss.
The good sign for the Pelicans in the defeat is that they have some young and talented players that will give the team something to look forward to in the future. Center Anthony Davis (24 points) Jrue Holliday (13 Points) and Austin Rivers, Doc Rivers’ son, could provide some good things for the Pelicans down the road.

Now is not that time.
The Clippers showed them as much, converting fastbreak after fastbreak with the ease of an artist painting a portrait. Blake Griffin (21 points) led a balanced Clippers’ offense that featured seven players putting up points in double figures.
Chris Paul came up with 12 points and 11 assists, while Jared Dudley offered up 20 points for the home team.DeAndre Jordan proved to be a monster again on the boards, crashing in to grab 20 rebounds on the night.
