(News 4 Us Online) – There are two players who stand head and shoulders above the rest of the playing field. Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge. They are the best of the best in Major League Baseball (MLB).
It’s been that way for a while now. Judge and Ohtani are generational talents and they have the hardware to back up their enormous skill sets.
Their names have been associated with hitting milestones and breaking barriers since entering the big leagues. Both men are big-time ticket draws when it comes to interest. The dynamic duo have a knack for making history.

Ohtani and Judge made history again when MLB selected them as the MVP for the respective leagues they play in. Ohtani was a unanimous choice in winning his second straight MVP award in the National League.
The voting wasn’t even close in the National League with Ohtani receiving 30 first-place votes. No other player in the National League picked up a first-place vote. Ohtani accumulated 420 total votes.
His nearest competitor, Philadelphia Phillies power hitter Kyle Schwarber could only muster 260 votes.
In winning the American League MVP for the second year in a row, Judge had a much tougher time than Ohtani. Seattle’s Carl Raleigh picked up 13 first-place votes and had 335 sportswriters vote for him as MVP. Judge got 17 first-place votes and 365 overall to become the MVP in the American League this season.
Baseball is a sport of numbers. It relies heavily on statistics to showcase its premier players. For MLB, that has panned out pretty well the last two seasons.
That’s because the two biggest stars in the league just happen to play in major baseline cities like Los Angeles and New York.
And simply by coincidence, the two of the best players in MLB have teams playing in those markets. Judge plays for the New York Yankees. Ohtani gets his groove on by playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Judge and Ohtani brought their respective teams to the 2024 World Series. Ohtani and the Dodgers got the best of Judge and the Yankees, winning the World Series in five games. This season, Ohtani led the Dodgers to another World Series title.
On his path to do so, Ohtani hit 55 home runs, drove in 102 runs and scored 146 times. He also had a slugging percentage of .622. For Judge, the Yankees star had almost the same type of year as Ohtani in winning the American League MVP.
Judge hit 53 home runs, drove in 114 runs and scored 137 times, while batting .331 during the regular season. And now, he has been tabbed the American League MVP, the second straight year he has won the award.
Judge and Ohtani are quite the superstar pair as both have now won consecutive MVP honors. What separates Judge and Ohtani on the baseball field is that the Dodgers slugger is also a top-notch pitcher as well as being a designated hitter.

Otherwise, Judge and Ohtani are similar in almost every way.
Both are mountains of men. Judge towers over a lot of people at 6-foot-7. Ohtani’s stature is just as impressive with his 6-foot-4 frame. Both players can hit for power and hit for average. Both Judge and Ohtani are the most feared hitters in the big leagues.
There’s no one like them. They are pretty consistent at the plate. When Ohtani and Judge step into the batter’s box, both players bring the uncanny appeal that something special is about to happen.
More often than not it usually pans out that way. That’s why Ohtani and Judge are your most valuable players.
