(News4UsOnline) – The Los Angeles Rams are in a good space these days. The space they currently occupy is first place in the NFC and being on top of the NFC West Division.
The Rams are statistically tied with Seattle for the NFC’s best record, but has the edge over the Seahawks with a win earlier this season. The Rams encounter the Seahawks one more time in Week 16 in Seattle.
With that said, the Rams are winning and having some fun. Quarterback Matthew Stafford said the joy comes from teammates supporting each other.

“I just think the way we all pull for each other,” Stafford said during the team’s mid-week practice. “We pull for each other’s success, whether that’s on the offensive side of the ball for all the guys to have success or for the defensive side of the ball for those guys.”
“You see it both ways, right? [Inside Linebacker Nate] Landman gets a pick and everybody’s fired up. We score a touchdown and defense is fired up. It’s a group of guys that understand what it takes and that’s not just on Sundays. It’s day in and day out around here. We care for each other and know what the work looks like to go out there and be successful,” Stafford went on to say.
That success has manifested in all phases of the game for the Rams. Stafford has played like he’s the best player on the field from Day 1. With 35 throwing touchdowns already under his belt, Stafford is getting MVP! MVP chants not just from the home crowd at SoFI Stadium, but also on the road.
After a three-touchdown performance in a 45-17 win against the Arizona Cardinals, Stafford got shown some love by the homefield crowd at State Farm Stadium.
“It was awesome,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “What is really cool about having Matthew is that regardless of whether he’s in this conversation or not, there’s been a consistent belief that when that guy’s our quarterback, everybody believes we always have a chance. There’s such a reverence and a respect. I’ve referenced this before, he has such a great humility but he’s the man at the same time.”
Stafford has been the man for the Rams since he arrived. He led the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI win against the Cincinnati Bengals. And this season, he has been playing, one of the best seasons of his 17-year career.
For sure, Stafford has the Rams offense humming along this season at an optimum level.

The Rams are the No. 4 team in scoring offense at 29 points a game and second in the NFL in average scoring margin differential at 11.7 points, according to Advanced Stats.
The Rams are also first in the league in passing touchdowns per game (2.7), scoring points in the first quarter (7.7), touchdowns per game (3.8), offensive touchdowns per game (3.7), and extra points attempted (3.8) and made per game (3.5).
The Rams are flying high offensively this season not just because of Stafford, but because of the talent surrounding him. Davante Adams leads the NFL in touchdown catches (14) and Puka Nacua is playing like Puka Nacua, the No. 2 receiver in the league in receiving yards (1,186).

Then there is the 1-2 punch of running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum that keeps defenses on their toes. The tight end room with Davis Allen, Terrance Ferguson, Tyler Higbee (injured) and Colby Parkinson complete the Rams offensive weaponry.
But make no mistake about it, Stafford is the key that makes this engine go. With his play ascending to an MVP-like level, Adams said it would be great should the Rams quarterback win the NFL’s best player award.
“It’d be awesome,” Adams said. “That’s not our main goal, but that’s definitely something that we know means a lot to him and to us to be a part of that. He’s earned it. He’s played amazing this year. To get that, I’m sure that would be a big one for him to check off the box, but we have some bigger stuff in mind though.”
With games still left to be played in the regular season and the team’s postseason aspirations looming, Stafford isn’t quite ready to go there when it comes to getting caught up in all the MVP talk.
“I don’t want to speak in too many hypotheticals to be honest with you,” remarked Stafford. “I am a fan of this game and have been for a long time. Anytime you get honored, for whatever award in any kind of way in whatever position in this league, it’s something that I don’t take for granted. Just to be in the conversation is something that’s humbling to me knowing the people that have played this game before me and the guys that have helped me get to where I am.”
