Teen phenom lights up racetrack

MAGNY-COURS, FRANCE / RIVERSIDE, CAAt just 15 years old, American racing driver Truly Adams achieved a milestone that places him among the most promising young talents in motorsports. Competing against a field of international contenders at the FEED Racing Volant F4 Finals, Adams became the first American finalist in the academy’s six-season history and earned a podium finish at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, one of France’s most storied F1 racetracks.

Adams was one of six drivers selected from an original pool of 62 competitors to advance to the Grand Final in late September. Over the course of the final rounds, Adams impressed with his raw speed and consistency. He placed third overall in the “Finale Blanche” session, posting a standout 3-lap average of 1:52.297 in the rain. Earlier in the competition, he led the field in “Battle 2” with the fastest average time of 1:47.714 in the dry.

“It felt incredible to be on the podium,” Adams said. “I knew I had the pace, and this competition pushed me to grow. I also learned where I need to improve, especially driving in the rain and working through language barriers. I’m motivated to keep training and come back stronger.”

A Merit-Based Racing Platform

Founded by former Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve and veteran driver Patrick Lemarié, FEED Racing is widely respected for providing a merit-based path to French Formula 4. Its multi-week format eliminates traditional financial barriers, selecting finalists based on driving skill and potential, not access to funding.

“In over 30 years in this sport, this was the most fair and equitable competition I’ve witnessed,” said Troy Adams, Truly’s father, coach, and founder of Troy Adams Coaching. “FEED Racing focuses on talent, not status and they are reshaping access to open-wheel racing.”

The overall 2025 FEED Racing title was awarded to Yuval Rosen of Israel, who earned a fully funded seat in French F4. Adams’ performance as a finalist earned him a free test day in France and a critical step toward his goal of entering the French Formula 4 Championship in 2026.

A Career Already Full of Firsts

The Magny-Cours podium is the latest chapter in an already impressive racing career for Truly. Among his achievements:

  • Two-time World Champion at the Tillotson Nations Cup (Spain, 2022 and 2023)
  • Fastest driver at the Mexico F4 Series Test, leading to an official invitation to compete in the series
  • Completed both Introductory and Advanced programs at Skip Barber Racing School (August 2024), clocking the fastest times in class
  • Named an Official GoPro Athlete in March 2025
  • Featured cover model for Regard Magazine’s April 2025 Automotive Issue
  • Selected for the 2025 AlpineStars Motorsports Campaign
  • Serves as a Factory Driver for RLV (2021–2025) and the Factory Karts Shifter Development Program (2025)

Riverside, CA native Truly Adams is bilingual in English and Spanish and is now learning French to further his competitive edge on the international circuit.

To prepare for the FEED Racing program, he undertook a rigorous training regimen that included simulator work, morning endurance runs, and coaching at MW Athletix Training Center in Corona, CA with NFL star Marcus Williams, focusing on both physical performance and mental focus.

” Truly comes in to train ready to work. There are no excuses, and he makes sure not to cut any corners. At MW Athletix, we put him through some of the toughest workouts, and he attacks each one with the same intensity he brings to the track. He understands the grind and that you grind to shine, shine to win, and win so you can eat,” shared Marcus Williams, NFL Safety and Founder, MW Athletix.

Looking Ahead to French F4

Adams now has his sights set on the 2026 French Formula 4 Championship, where only 30 drivers are accepted each season. Entry into the series will require an estimated $300,000 in funding, and his team is actively seeking sponsorships and partnerships to make this next step possible.

Current sponsors supporting Truly Adams include GoPro, Simpson Race Products, Stilo Helmets, Regard Magazine, and the nonprofit BNEVO (Building New Emerging Voices & Opportunities), which supports diversity in motorsports and youth development.
