LOS ANGELES (News4usonline) – The University of Utah held court on Dec. 29 at Lawry’s The Prime Rib restaurant in Beverly Hills as part of the Rose Bowl Game weekly festivities. One of many events that lead up to the game often dubbed the Granddaddy of Them All, is the annual Beef Bowl, which went into a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Beef Bowl is housed at the prestigious Lawry’s eatery and caters to the two teams that participate in the Rose Bowl Game, played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The two teams this year are Penn State and Utah. The Utes took the stage on the first day with Penn State being served as guests on Dec. 30.
The trek down to Beverly Hills to visit Lawry’s is just part of the whole week of things to do for the Nittany Lions and the Utes before actually square off on the football field on Jan. 2. Until then, it’s all fun and games. And food.

The menu served to the players and coaches and staff includes a healthy helping of Buttery Mashed Idaho Potatoes, creamy corn, a side plate of salad, warm bread, and a generous portion of the Lawry Cut or the Diamond Jim Brady Cut prime rib. This is a fun event for the players who get star treatment from the restaurant’s staff.
And it doesn’t start until they’ve sat down in their seats. As soon as the players hop off of their buses, they’re greeted with a warm and celebratory greeting with a live band playing and members of the Lawry’s staff standing outside clapping and cheering them on as they make their way into the upscale restaurant.
