Sony Michel trade gives Rams RB firepower

With starting running back Cam Akers out for the season, the Los Angeles Rams added some firepower to their backfield with a trade for New England Patriots runner Sony Michel. In three seasons, the former Georgia Bulldog star has rushed for 2, 292 yards in 38 games.

Sony automatically gives the Rams a home run hitter to complement quarterback Matthew Stafford. The move by the Rams also gives the team depth at the position. The Rams running back chart includes Darrell Henderson Jr., Xavier Jones, Jake Funk, and Otis Anderson.

The good thing about the Rams acquiring Michel is that they didn’t have to give up any players currently on their roster. The deal for Michel took place via trade with a number of undisclosed draft picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Last season, Michel rushed for 449 yards on 79 rushing attempts, averaging 5.6 yards per carry.
