Los Angeles, CA (News4usonline) – Life happens in cycles. The cycle that the Los Angeles Dodgers had been in has now come to an official close. When the Dodgers open training camp in the spring of 2027, they will start on a new journey.
They won’t have to worry about defending a title. They will be the ones doing the chasing instead of being chased. The Milwaukee Brewers saw to that after they beat the Dodgers 6-4 in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series to complete a sweep of the back-to-back champions.
“Just to see what they did and defy all the odds, they come in here against — this is an incredible team,” Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said. “You think of the pitching staff they have — [Yoshinobu] Yamamoto, [Tarik] Skubal, [Blake] Snell, [Tyler] Glasnow, and the relief staff. [Edwin] Diaz throwing the ball as good as he ever has. For these guys to come back from a 4-0 deficit, I think the Dodgers figured out that we came in here with a little different attitude this year.”

Top to bottom, the Brewers were a better team than the Dodgers this season.
That is why the Brewers are going to the World Series and the Dodgers have concluded their valiant attempt at trying to win a third straight championship.
At some point, the run had to end. Fittingly, it was Milwaukee, a team that the Dodgers swept in last year’s National League Championship Series (NLCS) that ended the reign of Los Angeles. And it wasn’t even close. The Brewers dominated the series in just about every facet from beginning to end.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts admitted as much during his postgame press conference after the Brewers ended the series with a 6-4 win in Game 4 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium.
“I think at the end of the day, we got beat,” Roberts said. “We got outplayed in all facets. Those guys played flawless. Defensively they pitched better than we did, they hit better than we did, they slugged more than we did.
“You’ve got to sometimes just tip your cap. I personally told our guys that there’s no apologies, there’s no sorries. We gave it everything we had, and it wasn’t good enough. That’s part of life,” he added.
For nearly three complete seasons, the Dodgers have been head and shoulders above every other team in Major League Baseball (MLB). After Milwaukee took them out in four consecutive games, that may not be the case anymore. The Dodgers won two World Series in the last two years.

The Brewers emphatically put a pause on the aspirations the Dodgers had of going for a three-peat. If you played close attention throughout the season, the way Milwaukee dismantled the Dodgers should not comes as a surprise.
The Brewers had the best record in all of baseball. They won more than 100 games (103). Milwaukee also held a 4-3 edge in won games against the Dodgers during the regular season.
“All I can say is — all I will say is the Brewers had the best record in all of baseball,” remarked Roberts. “They won 103 games. They earned home-field advantage, and they beat us in four games. For us, it was just pitting two really good ball clubs against one another, and they won out. I certainly think that I wish it was us going to the World Series and defending our crown, but those guys, they earned it, and it’s going to be a heck of a World Series.”
