The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena is one of the most iconic sports and entertainment venues in the world and will no doubt maximize the number of people expected to attend the game. The Rose Bowl Stadium has a capacity of holding a little over 90,000 people. That’s where it hosted the World Cup in 1994 for men and 1999 for women.

It’s also used for Mexico and US national team matches when they play different opponents.

The Rose Bowl Stadium was home to the LA Galaxy from 1996 to 2003. For the first time in 21 years, LA Galaxy will play at the Rose Bowl Stadium. It is the second time that LAFC and Galaxy have played each other at a different stadium since the 2020 MLS season when it was an MLS Is Back season tournament.

When they play one another in February, it will mark the 17th time LAFC and LA Galaxy have squared off. As of today, LA Galaxy has seven wins and LAFC has four wins, and both teams have tied for five games.

“The LA Galaxy are excited to write a new chapter in the storied soccer legacy of Los Angeles as we kick off our 2023 campaign against our intercity rival LAFC at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “We have a great history at the most legendary sports venue in the United States and know this will be a great spectacle for fans as we place one of the most exciting new rivalries in the world on LA’s biggest stage.”

Ever since LAFC joined MLS in 2018, both LAFC and Galaxy have become MLS’s highest-profile rivalry.
