LOS ANGELES – The Children Uniting Nations held its 24th Annual Academy Awards Celebration and Viewing Dinner on Sunday, March 10 at the Historic Warner Bros. Estate. It was a celebration for the Academy Awards but more importantly for a great cause to benefit the charity.
Many celebrities walked the red carpet in their most elegant outfits ready to support a great charity and watch the 96th Academy Awards. The event was hosted by Mario Lopez and Daphna E. Ziman.

The highlight of the event was Marla Gibbs receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award. Gibbs daughter, Angela Gibbs, and granddaughter were with her to accompany her on a great day for her.
“We’re just really happy to be here what she’s doing (Gibbs) is very important. I think that when we deal with women’s Justice and when we deal with children and being an advocate it’s really what we stand on. What we believe in, so we get to celebrate the Oscars and also for a good cause,” said Angela.
They held a fashion show along with live performances. Among the performers were Wu-Tang Clan YDB (Young Dirty Bastard), Parrice Smith, Jimmy Cozier, and headlined by Macy Gray.
“Isn’t this great! There’s a lot of stars, a lot of people supporting. It’s a testament to using one’s platform to support kids”, said Primetime Emmy Award-winning Kim Estes regarding being at the event.

The celebrities at the event chose Oppenheimer as their favorite to win and they were right. Oppenheimer took home seven awards including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director. They were all able to watch all the big winners during their dinner and Oscars viewing.
Children Uniting Nations (CUN) is a proactive non-profit organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. Events like this one help the organization help more children.
“It’s a great event that serves its cause, as it’s in the middle of the Oscars, and with the kids it’s a blended event here. I like it”, said Mark Anthony.
