Before he went on to the NFL and helped the Pittsburgh Steelers win four Super Bowls, Lynn Swan was a pretty good wide receiver for the USC Trojans. Swan, who is both a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, caught passes for the Trojans in the 1972 and 1973 Rose Bowls. USC won the national title in 1972.
Swan caught 11 passes for 155 yards in both Rose Bowl games for USC, which really didn’t push throwing the ball as a priority back in those days when rushing the ball was king of the land. Nevertheless, Swan made his impact felt in college football before be became a first round draft pick for the Steelers.

Swan becomes the 23rd member of the USC football family to be inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. Swan wasn’t alone in receiving this prestigious honor. Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr and offensive line great Orlando Pace, who played his college football at Ohio State, were added to the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.
