Inglewood, CA – The Los Angeles Chargers will keep playing until they break through with a win. So far, that objective has not happened. After seven games to start the regular season, the Chargers (0-7) still have not found a way to win.
Justin Herbert, the Chargers starting quarterback, said the team simply has to figure out what that winning formula is.
“”[We have] got to find a way,” Herbert said. “Whatever we’re doing, it hasn’t been good enough and it’s up to us. Only we in that locker room can change it and work toward it, and we have got to find a way.”

The Chargers latest defeat came courtesy of the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams defeated the Chargers 24-9. The Chargers were limited to just three field goals for the entire game. What cost the Chargers? A plethora of mistakes, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said.
“Takeaways are that we lost the game. We weren’t able to finish drives with touchdowns,” Harbaugh remarked. “Also lost in the middle eight, a touchdown before the half and the opening drive touchdown by the Rams and turning the ball over. Those were key once again.”
After controlling most of the first half of their game that was played at SoFi Stadium, the Chargers wilted and saw a promising lead turn into a deficit by the time intermission hit.
With two minutes left in the second quarter, the Rams scored a touchdown to take the lead from the Chargers, who could only muster three Cameron Dicker field goals in the first two periods.
The Rams’ 10-9 lead going into the locker room eventually turned into a 24-9 outcome that did not favor the Chargers. After the Rams scored just before halftime with 19 seconds left in the second quarter, the Rams scored twice more in the third quarter to put the game away.
With zero wins in the win column, Harbaugh is searching for solutions, not excuses, to bring about victories for his ballclub.
“Our motivation is dedication to getting it changed, to getting it fixed. I’m focused on this game. I will go watch this tape. I believe in our guys. I believe in our players, our coaches. It’s us who are the ones that the challenge is with and we’re the only ones that can fix it.”
The Chargers came into the game averaging 15.9 points a game. Those numbers figure to be a lot lower now after their latest defeat.
“I think it’s just the guys in that locker room that we [have] got to stick together,” Herbert said. “Obviously, it’s a tough situation, but we’re all we have in that locker room. Those are the guys that can fix it and do everything we can to make it work.”
