The Black & Gold are tied with Philadelphia Union with 57 points at the standings for the fight for the supporters shields, but LAFC breaks the tiebreaker since they have the most wins per game.

LAFC have won five games in a row when they played Real Salt Lake and are unbeaten since the 2018 MLS season.

LAFC and Real Salt Lake also played each other on August 6 with LAFC taking the score of 4-1.

What LAFC president John Thorrington mentioned about Dennis Bouanga is, “Dennis will have additional firepower to as I say what we do believe is a strong group. I think he’s coming at a good time. We obviously have very important six games left of the season and a run-in which we know this group will be tested as it already has. I think the addition of Dennis will certainly help us in our objectives of winning supporters shields winning the west and hopefully MLS cup, so I know Dennis will be available once he is done with his work this morning.”

Ryan Hollinghead and Cristian Arango scored second-half goals to help LAFC finally win a game after struggling to win in the last three away games.

Carlos Vela made an assist after getting subbed in the 58th minute. Arango scored his fifth goal in three career matches against Real Salt Lake.

Arango has made 14 goals and added four assists. Vela has two goals and three assists in the past 10 games.

At the press conference LAFC president John Thorrington said, “I think for us the objectives are always that there are very few competitions we can win each year. The idea is to qualify for the Champions League which I hope will be in and compete for the next support of shield.”

LAFC finally took the win after struggling to win in the past 3 games away.

It is the sixth game that LAFC have defeated Real Salt Lake including the playoffs.

Steve and the staff have done and continue to do a great job of rotating. I think we have a very deep roster. We have lots of players that we can call on. We had injuries at certain points, so I don’t think Steve has had the full roster to draw from recently and I think also what I spoke earlier in the attacking positions with injuries we had and then the trades we made and then the sale of Brian,” Thorrington said.

LAFC are still ahead in the standings. They also took a solid win with the score of 2-0 on Sunday night.

After defeating Real Salt Lake, LAFC have 60 points this season. LAFC still holds the top spot in Western Conference.

LAFC are doing well this season because they have good transfers this season that are Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini.

There is a possible chance that they can qualify to Supporters’ Shield and Concocaf Champions League with Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini since they are the best players.

Even though Bale and Chiellini are the best players there are times they aren’t in the starting 11. They still win some games without them.
