Dodgers look to finish off Brewers

Los Angeles, CA (News4usOnline) – The Los Angeles Dodgers head into Game 3 of their National League Championship Series two games away from making consecutive World Series appearances. The only obstacle lying in their pathway is the Milwaukee Brewers.

And maybe themselves. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts didn’t sound too worried at the team’s workout session at Dodger Stadium that his ballclub would lose any type of focus with a 2-0 cushion.

“I think it’s pretty easy,” Roberts said. “You have a long-term goal to win a championship, and then on the short-term, the micro, how do you do that? You just stay in the moment, don’t lose that edge and stay focused.

“Then it’s pretty easy. There’s a lot at stake. I like getting here, working out, getting our guys — kind of get their bodies moving. But like you said, they’re a talented team, they’re not going to quit, and we’ve just got to keep playing good baseball.”

The Dodgers have gotten two outstanding pitching gems from Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the first two games of the series. Now, the ball is in the hands of Tyler Glasnow.

Looking at what Snell and Yamamoto were able to achieve, Glasnow views what his pitching brethren were able to do as nothing short of outstanding.

“Just super impressive,” Glasnow said. “I think just to start a series like that on the road and to pitch two really good games and come out with two wins is huge.”

Glasnow added that he hopes he can ride the momentum that Snell and Yamamoto left for him to follow.

“I hope so,” Glasnow remarked. “I don’t know, for me, I think sometimes I think it sounds cool and it’s kind of magical, but I think it’s kind of like if you just go out and pitch well — because we have a lot of good starting pitching, I think because we have a lot of good hitting, I think a lot of times it will line up all together at some points, and the then sometimes in the season it won’t.”
