PASADENA, CA-Ohio State threatened to run away from the University if Washington in the 105th Rose Bowl Game. By halftime. the Buckeyes led 21-3 and looked like they would make this round matchup between the Big Ten Conference and the Pac-12 Conference a lopsided contest. When Urban Meyer’s team added another touchdown in the the third quarter to push the lead to 28-3, the Huskies looked cooked and frayed.
As it turned out, Washington and quarterback Jake Browning finally turned up their passing game in the fourth quarter, rallying to put 20 points on the scoreboard in the final period to make the final close, and a bit tense down towards the finish. Browning, who passed for 313 yards in Washington’s 28-23 defeat to Ohio State, outperformed Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who went for 251 yards through the air and three touchdowns.
But by the time Browning and the Huskies got their offense untracked it was a bit too late, and the Meyer concluded his farewell game as Ohio State’s head coach a winner one last time. Here is our coverage of the action in photos.
