Woodland Hills, CA (News4usonline) – The Los Angeles Rams look to put an end to their two-game losing streak on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders.
They may or may not have wide receiver Puka Nacua to help them to achieve that goal. Rams head coach Sean McVay announced Friday that playing Nacua is going to come down to a game-time decision.
“He’ll be questionable for the game,” McVay said during a press conference at the team’s practice facility.

Nacua did not practice Friday. McVay said that Nacua suffered a likely calf injury during a practice on Thursday.
“I don’t think he knows exactly when it occurred,” McVay went on to say. “You look at it and there’s a little minor thing in there. Felt it where he wasn’t able to have some of the power and full explosion. Just noticed it, but I don’t think he was aware of any sort of specific play that led to it. He took part in a majority of the practice, left, got it checked out, so he’ll be questionable for the game.”
Going on the road might do the Rams some good. Los Angeles picked up its last win on the road in a tough NFC battle against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams rallied from 10 points down late to come away with a 24-20 victory.
Since that win, the Rams have dropped home games against the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals. With a team decimated with injuries, the Rams are already down veteran wideout Davante Adams for an estimated 6-10 weeks.
Having Nacua suit up and take the field against the Raiders would be a bonus for McVay and the Rams. If not, McVay is confident that his other wideouts will step up and meet the challenge.
Should Nacua be ruled out, McVay’s expectation for the backup receivers is simple; be yourself and ball out.
“I think for guys to play to the best of their ability,” McVay remarked. “I think it’s our job to figure out, what are some of the spots that we can put them in that accentuate their skill sets? Whether you’re talking about [Adams], whether you’re talking about Puka, you don’t ever ask anybody to replace those guys.
“They’re unique guys that have meant so much to us. I want those players to be their best selves whether that’s ‘Mump’ [Konata Mumpfield], whether that’s Tutu [Atwell], whether that’s ‘J Whitt’ [Jordan Whittington], whether that’s C.J. Daniels,” McVay added.
