ANAHEIM, CA (News4usonline) – The Los Angeles Angels finished out of the running of Major League Baseball’s playoffs. The Angels ended their season with a 70-86 record, good enough to finish fourth in the American League West Division. The Houston Astros (first), Oakland A’s, and Texas Rangers finished ahead of the Angels.
The good new for the Angels is they have outfielder Mike Trout on their side. Trout tied for the American League lead in home runs with 45 dingers on the season. An MVP candidate, Trout also batted .291, scored 110 runs and produced 104 RBIs.
Well, when the Angels took to the field against the Tampa Bay Rays at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Sept. 13, they didn’t have Trout at their disposal. In their second to last home stand of the 2019 regular season, Angels dropped the three-game series to the Rays, 2-1.
It turned out that the Angels needed Trout’s bat to try offset the slugging by the Rays that night. Tampa Bay got four home runs during their 15-hit barrage and defeated the Angels, 11-4. The Rays’ four-run third inning propelled them to the road victory against the Angels. Photographer Sammy Saludo vividly captures the game in pictures from his camera.
