Near the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Ocean Avenue sits a small cluster of restaurants very close to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. From a high-end steakhouse like BOA to a modern Mexican restaurant like the King and Queen Cantina, this small area of restaurants is always booming with foot traffic and hungry customers.
Of all these places worthy of your dining, one stands out in terms of food and a welcoming experience.
Stout Burgers & Beers has a homelike feeling to it. Staff, waiters, and bartenders are all welcoming and quick to serve you not just food, but an experience. Service is fast, with drinks, appetizers and food coming out in less than 20 minutes on a busy night. Stout is full of busy nights, but somehow rarely has a wait time.
While Stout is a relatively small restaurant sitting around 50 people tentatively, there is plenty of room to sit and quick service frees up space for new customers. Big restaurant chains like Islands and Buffalo Wild Wings are great to go and watch the game but usually have long wait times.
Stout has two flat screen TV’s showing sports, a bar area, and plenty of tables for people to come and enjoy the game. Christian De Avila, assistant manager of Stout Burgers & Beers, believes the food and service provided at Stout is something to be proud of.
“We try our best to provide an experience for our customers,” said De Avila. “All of our sauces are made in-house and our beers are unique.”
Stout has 30 craft beers on tap along with wines, ciders, and hard kombuchas. Whatever your taste in alcohol is, Stout has it. Their beers and drinks are constantly being switched out and changed so customers can experience a different drink every time they come. The signature burgers are big, but not obnoxiously large.
They are soft and juicy, but not soggy. The combinations of flavors hit the mark every time. Whichever burger you choose, you can’t go wrong. The same goes for sides. Whether you are a french fry, tater tot, or onion ring person, Stout has them all and prepares them to crunchy perfection.
The salads are refreshing, with the arugula salad being a crowd favorite. And we can’t forget their gourmet bread pudding dessert, a staple of the restaurant made to order every time.
Stout has released two new sandwiches: The plant-based Veggie Burger made of a hemp patty and the Mambo, a spicy fried chicken sandwich marinated overnight and prepared to order.
Whether you are heading to happy hour after a long day of work or a weekend brunch with friends, Stout is a great venue for any dining occasion.
